His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, has sent messages to his counterparts; His Excellency José Condungua Antonio Pacheco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mozambique; His Excellency Lieutenant General (RTD) Dr. Sibusiso Busi Moyo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe; and His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Fabiano M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi, conveying commiserations following the devastation caused due to Cyclone Idai.
The Minister expressed that he was profoundly saddened by the loss of lives and devastation caused due to the Cyclone Idai, and conveyed thoughts and prayers to the Governments and the peoples of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi, during this tragic calamity.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and on his own behalf, the Minister extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved and affected families, and wished for swiftness and success in the rescue and recovery efforts.
