New Ambassador of Japan calls on the Foreign Minister

Her Excellency Ms. Keiko Yanai, the new Ambassador of Japan to Maldives, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid today. The introductory call took place shortly after Ambassador Yanai presented her letter of credence to President Solih in a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid congratulated Ambassador Yanai on her new appointment and assured the full support of the Government of Maldives in discharging her duties. Minister Shahid also highlighted the enduring strength of the Maldives-Japan partnership and the close people-to-people contact that form the foundation of the relationship.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr Ahmed Khaleel and Ms. Zeena Mohamed Didi, Assistant Director, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present in the meeting.
