Ambassador of Germany calls on Foreign Minister

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Jörn Rohde paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives this afternoon.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Minister thanked the government of Germany for organizing the Biometric Clinic for German Visa, in the Maldives and expressed the interest of the Government to establish a permanent VFS office in the Maldives. Minister Shahid and Ambassador Rohde also discussed about strengthening the existing bilateral ties between both Germany and Maldives in different areas of mutual benefit.
The Foreign Minister further briefed the Ambassador on the upcoming Maldives-EU Policy Dialogue, scheduled to be held in March, and the readiness of the Government to engage positively with the international community to further enhance the cooperation between EU member countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid was accompanied by His Excellency Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, Foreign Secretary of the Republic of Maldives, Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed, Director and Ms. Fathimath Razana, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His Excellency Jörn Rohde, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Maldives was accompanied by Mr. Sanjay Ibrahim Maniku, Honorary Consul of Germany in Maldives.
