Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador Alice G. Wells, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia at the U.S Department of State

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid met with Ambassador Alice G. Wells, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia at the U.S Department of State.
At the meeting held at the US Department of State this morning, Minister Shahid and Ambassador Wells discussed about judicial sector reform, the upcoming Parliamentary Elections, and ways to further strengthen cooperation between two countries.
The Ambassador and the Minister also discussed about the cooperation initiatives planned by the US government this year, to enhance collaboration between Maldives and the US in areas such as aviation security, public financial management, and counter-terrorism and violent extremism.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of the Maldives to the United States of America, Ali Naseer Mohamed, and Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
