Minister Shahid congratulates the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and France

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid sends message of felicitations to His Excellency Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and France.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Maldives, it gives me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to your Excellency, and the people of France on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between Maldives and France.
France has been one of our closest allies in Europe and it gives me great satisfaction to note the cordial relationship and the close support offered by France to the development of Maldives on different avenues. The bond of close partnership between our two nations, founded on mutual respect and trust, common values and ideology, have prospered over the past years, generating greater international cooperation on the multilateral front.
As we mark this important milestone in our bilateral relations, it is my hope that the friendly relations that exist between our two countries will be further strengthened in the future. I also wish to convey to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of France continued success, peace and prosperity.”
