Indian Government gifts Hydroxychloroquine to the Maldives

The Indian Government has decided to provide, as grant assistance, 50,000 units of Hydroxycholoroquine to the Maldives. The medicine that is being used against a variety of ailments, including for COVID-19, arrived in the Maldives today, via Maldivian Airlines cargo flight from Chennai. The medicine is being donated to the people of Maldives, as a goodwill gesture, under a special exemption.The Government has extended its deep appreciation to Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India for this timely assistance towards the Maldivian people.
