Foreign Minister Shahid holds a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Bhutan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency, Abdulla Shahid held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Excellency Dr. Tandi Dorji.
During the telephone conversation, Minister Shahid highlighted the close relationship between Maldives and Bhutan, and expressed his readiness to reinforce cooperation to focus on important areas of collaboration including the health sector, tourism sector and climate change.
Minister Shahid also commended the Royal Bhutanese Government on the success achieved, and ongoing efforts of Bhutan in fighting COVID-19 pandemic.
The two Ministers agreed to continue working together on bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern to further strengthen the friendly ties. Minister Shahid also extended an invitation to His Excellency Dr. Tandi Dorji to visit Maldives at a mutually convenient time.ENDS
