Minister Shahid sends a message of condolence to the Foreign Minister of Lebanon

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid sent a message expressing condolences to Charbel Wehbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon, following the loss of lives, injuries and devastation caused by the explosions in Beirut on Tuesday evening.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“I am deeply saddened by the shocking explosion that occurred in Beirut on Tuesday evening, and the loss of lives, injuries and the devastation caused by this tragic incident. Let me express my sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families of the bereaved, and to all those who are directly and indirectly affected.
The Maldives stands in solidarity with Lebanon, and the prayers and well wishes of the Maldivian people are with the people of Lebanon during this difficult time. We remain confident that Lebanon and the residents of Beirut will recover, rebuild and thrive to be stronger.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
