Statement by the Government of Maldives on the terrorist attack in Somalia

The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the terrorist attack targeting a hotel in Mogadishu, capital of Somalia on 17 August 2020, which caused the loss of innocent lives and injured many others.
The Government of Maldives reiterates its steadfast commitment to work closely with the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the international community in eliminating this global menace.
The Government of Maldives extends its condolences to the members of the bereaved families and to all those affected by the horrific incident and reaffirms its solidarity with the people and the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
