Foreign Minister Shahid meets Foreign Minister of Czech Republic

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a virtual meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček, today.
The two Ministers discussed the challenges faced by Maldives and Czech Republic due to the COVID-19 pandemic and briefed on the measures taken by the respective governments to contain the spread of the virus. Both Ministers also discussed enhancing the strong bilateral and multilateral ties between the two countries by increasing cooperation in a wide range of areas of mutual interest including tourism, trade and investments as well as strengthening cooperation at the United Nations.
Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for Czech Republic’s active engagement and support to the Maldives, and expressed confidence in continuing to cooperate and advancing interests on areas of mutual concern, both bilaterally and internationally.
