Minister Shahid meets with Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has met with Vice Minister, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Dr. Tobias Lindner, this afternoon.
During a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Minister Shahid and Vice-Minister Lindner discussed the growing partnership between the Maldives and Germany, especially in the areas of tourism, trade and economic cooperation, and environment and climate change. Minister Shahid expressed appreciation to the Government of Germany for the continuous contributions made towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives and highlighted the importance of sustaining the momentum of the partnership.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Shahid also acknowledged the role played by Germany in the European Union and highlighted the pivotal role played by the European Union in reviving democracy in the Maldives. Minister Shahid and Vice-Minister Lindner reiterated the commitment of both countries to continue working closely together, bilaterally and in the international fora, on issues of mutual interest.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Aishath Shan Shakir, Joint Secretary Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed and Counsellor at the Embassy of Maldives in Berlin, Ms. Umaira Mohamed.
Minister Abdulla Shahid is currently accompanying His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on an Official Visit to Germany.
