Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid meets Education Minister of Finland

Abdulla Shahid has met with the Education Minister of Finland, Li Andersson, this afternoon.
At the meeting held at the Parliament House today, Minister Shahid conveyed the importance the Government of Maldives attaches to higher education and expressed the Government’s interest in learning and benefitting from the world-renowned Finnish education model and establishing contacts with academic institutions in Finland.
Minister Andersson expressed the Government of Finland’s readiness in continuing to work closely with the Government of Maldives in enhancing education cooperation between both countries. Minister Shahid also noted that the Finland International School is an excellent example of the existing cooperation between the private sectors of Maldives and Finland in the field of education.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Finland, Ahmed Latheef, Minister of State for Economic Development, Mohamed Iaad Hameed and Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shiuneen Rasheed.
