Foreign Minister Zameer received a phone call from the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer received a phone call from the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Antony Blinken, today.
During the phone call, Minister Zameer and Secretary Blinken reflected on the renewed vigour of the bilateral relations between the Maldives and the United States, and discussed on further strengthening the existing bilateral partnership.
The discussions between Minister Zameer and Secretary Blinken centred on a wide range of issues, including defence cooperation, economic development, climate change and adaptation, democratic governance, and the rule of law.
Secretary Blinken, while reiterating the importance of the partnership, expressed the United States Government’s commitment to continue working with the Maldives on shared priorities.
Minister Zameer conveyed the readiness of President Dr Muizzu’s government to work together in this endeavour. Minister Zameer also expressed his gratitude to the United States Government for its continued support to the Maldives and for the importance it attaches to enhancing the partnership further.
