The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives to the European Union, His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, on 16 December 2022. The ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council.

During the meeting that followed, Mr Charles Michel welcomed Ambassador Omar and congratulated him on his appointment. Ambassador Omar conveyed warm greetings and good wishes from the Maldivian people and H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Both President Michel and Ambassador Omar re-affirmed the positive and growing momentum in the Maldives-EU relations over the recent years and re-confirmed their strong interest in further strengthening the excellent bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Omar was accompanied by Counsellor Ms Mariyam Seena and First Secretary Mrs Fathimath Reena.
